12-944. Notice of sale; service and publication

Before any property described in the petition as provided by section 12-943 is sold, if the name and residence of the owner thereof is known, the petitioner shall give at least sixty days notice of the petition to the owner, either personally or by mail, or by leaving a notice at his residence or place of business. If the name and residence of the owner are not known, the petitioner shall cause a notice containing a description of the property to be published once in a newspaper published in the county. If no newspaper is published in the county, the notice shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the county. The publication of the notice shall be at least eighteen days prior to the date of sale.
