30-696. License application requirements

A. The agency, with the assistance of appropriate state agencies, shall review the radioactive materials license application. The review shall document, at a minimum:

1. Alternatives considered for siting of any uranium milling or mill tailings disposal facilities;

2. Alternative designs or schemes for mill tailings management and disposal;

3. An assessment of the radiological impacts of uranium milling operations and mill tailings management techniques; and

4. An assessment of potential impacts on groundwater of uranium milling operations and mill tailings management techniques.

B. Results of the review so conducted shall be published and made available to the public and requesting state agencies.
