52870.  (a) Notwithstanding any other provisions of this chapter, ifa school district and school participate in the school-based programcoordination, any schoolsite advisory committee may elect todesignate the schoolsite council to function as that advisorycommittee for all purposes required by statute or regulations for aperiod of up to two years. (b) If the governing board of a school district adopts a policythat establishes a schoolwide decisionmaking body at each school topromote continuous improvement through a single planning process thatcoordinates federal and state programs and services, then that bodymay be designated as a single decisionmaking or coordinating body, ifthe composition of the body meets the requirements of Section 52852. (c) It is the intent of the Legislature that, to the extentpossible, the members of the schoolsite council represent thecomposition of the school's pupil population.
