7180. (a) Any person taking fish or amphibians for purposes otherthan profit from or on a boat or other floating device on the watersof the Colorado River and on adjacent waters, except canals, drains,or ditches used to transport water used for irrigation or domesticpurposes, shall have in his or her possession a valid sport fishinglicense issued by either the State of Arizona or State of California. (b) In addition to either of the licenses, a person taking fish oramphibians as indicated shall have in his or her possession a validColorado River special use stamp permanently affixed to his or hervalid sport fishing license. If he or she is a person having in hisor her possession a valid California sport fishing license he or sheshall have an Arizona special use stamp to fish legally the watersdescribed above. If he or she is a person having in his or herpossession a valid Arizona sport fishing license, he or she shallhave a California special use stamp to fish legally the watersdescribed above. (c) A special use stamp, when accompanied by the proper license,permits fishing in any portion of those waters, and permits fishermento enter the waters from any point. The fee for a Colorado River special use stamp is three dollars($3). (d) This section does not apply to licenses, permits,reservations, tags, or other entitlements issued through theAutomated License Data System.7180.1. The fee for a ColoradoRiver special use validation is three dollars ($3). (d) This section applies only to licenses, permits, reservations,tags, and other entitlements issued through the Automated LicenseData System.7181. (a) A person fishing from the shore in the waters of theColorado River located in Arizona or California shall have in his orher possession a valid sportfishing license issued by the state thathas jurisdiction over that shore. That shoreline fishing does notrequire a Colorado River special use stamp as long as the fishermanremains on the shore and does not embark on the water. Any person,however, having in his or her possession a valid Arizona sportfishinglicense and a California special use stamp may fish from the shorein the waters of the Colorado River, or adjacent waters, exceptcanals, drains, and ditches used to transport water used forirrigation or domestic purposes, located in California, without asportfishing license issued by the State of California. (b) This section does not apply to licenses, permits,reservations, tags, or other entitlements issued through theAutomated License Data System.7181.1. (a) A person fishing from the shore in the waters of theColorado River located in Arizona or California shall have in his orher possession a valid sportfishing license issued by the state thathas jurisdiction over that shore. That shoreline fishing does notrequire a Colorado River special use validation as long as thefisherman remains on the shore and does not embark on the water. Anyperson, however, having in his or her possession a valid Arizonasportfishing license and a California special use validation may fishfrom the shore in the waters of the Colorado River, or adjacentwaters, except canals, drains, and ditches used to transport waterused for irrigation or domestic purposes, located in Californiawithout a sport fishing license issued by the State of California. (b) This section applies only to licenses, permits, reservations,tags, and other entitlements issued through the Automated LicenseData System.7182. (a) Arizona Colorado River special use stamps shall be issuedby California authorized license agents under the supervision of thedepartment in the same manner as sportfishing licenses are issued,and California sportfishing licenses and California Colorado Riverspecial use stamps shall be issued by Arizona license dealers underthe supervision of the Arizona Game and Fish Commission. (b) This section does not apply to licenses, permits,reservations, tags, or other entitlements issued through theAutomated License Data System.7182.1. (a) Arizona Colorado River special use validations shall beissued by California authorized license agents under the supervisionof the department in the same manner as sportfishing licenses areissued, and California sportfishing licenses and California ColoradoRiver special use validations shall be issued by Arizona licensedealers under the supervision of the Arizona Game and FishCommission. (b) This section applies only to licenses, permits, reservations,tags, and other entitlements issued through the Automated LicenseData System.7183. (a) The Arizona Game and Fish Commission shall handleCalifornia sportfishing licenses and California special use stampsand issue them to Arizona license dealers. Prior to August 31 of eachyear, that commission shall make an audit report and send aremittance for those sales to the California Department of Fish andGame. (b) The California Department of Fish and Game shall handleArizona special use stamps and issue them to California licensedealers. Prior to August 31 of each year, that department shall makean audit report and send a remittance for those sales to the ArizonaGame and Fish Commission. (c) This section does not apply to licenses, permits,reservations, tags, or other entitlements issued through theAutomated License Data System.7183.1. (a) The Arizona Game and Fish Commission shall handleCalifornia sportfishing licenses and California special usevalidations and issue them through Arizona license dealers. Prior toAugust 31 of each year, that commission shall make an audit reportand send a remittance for those issued to the California Departmentof Fish and Game. (b) The California Department of Fish and Game shall handleArizona special use validations and issue them through Californialicense dealers. Prior to August 31 of each year that departmentshall make an audit report and send a remittance for those issued tothe Arizona Game and Fish Commission. (c) This section applies only to licenses, permits, reservations,tags, and other entitlements issued through the Automated LicenseData System.7184. (a) An Arizona special use stamp is valid from January 1 toDecember 31, inclusive, of each year, to coincide with the period forwhich a California sportfishing license is issued. (b) A California special use stamp is valid for one year tocoincide with the period for which an Arizona fishing license isissued. (c) This section does not apply to licenses, permits,reservations, tags, or other entitlements issued through theAutomated License Data System.7184.1. (a) An Arizona special use validation is valid from January1 to December 31, inclusive, of each year, to coincide with theperiod for which a California sportfishing license is issued. (b) A California special use validation is valid for one year tocoincide with the period for which an Arizona fishing license isissued. (c) This section applies only to licenses, permits, reservations,tags, and other entitlements issued through the Automated LicenseData System.7185. This article shall become operative and remain effective solong as the commission finds and determines that under the laws ofthe State of Arizona substantially similar Arizona licenses areauthorized to be issued to licensees of the State of California uponsubstantially the same terms and conditions as are provided for inthis article as to the issuance of California licenses to licenseesof the State of Arizona.7186. (a) When the director determines from the Secretary of Statethat copies of the law of the State of Arizona have been received bythe Secretary of State which provides for an Arizona residentsportfishing license valid for a period of less than one year, aCalifornia special use stamp valid for the same period as the Arizonaresident sportfishing license may be issued for a fee of one dollar($1). (b) If Arizona issues a resident sportfishing license for a termless than one year for the purpose of changing to a calendar yearlicense from a fiscal year license, that license shall be deemed tobe a license upon substantially the same terms and conditions as areprovided for the issuance of California licenses to licensees of theState of Arizona for the purposes of Section 7185. (c) This section does not apply to licenses, permits,reservations, tags, or other entitlements issued through theAutomated License Data System.7186.1. (a) When the director determines from the Secretary ofState that copies of the law of the State of Arizona have beenreceived by the Secretary of State that provides for an Arizonaresident sportfishing license valid for a period of less than oneyear, a California special use validation valid for the same periodas the Arizona resident sportfishing license may be issued for a feeof one dollar ($1). (b) If Arizona issues a resident sportfishing license for a termless than one year for the purpose of changing to a calendar yearlicense from a fiscal year license, that license shall be deemed tobe a license upon substantially the same terms and conditions as areprovided for the issuance of California licenses to licensees of theState of Arizona for the purposes of Section 7185. (c) This section applies only to licenses, permits, reservations,tags, and other entitlements issued through the Automated LicenseData System.
