22100.  (a) For all purposes under this part, the following group of
employees shall constitute a separate coverage group: civilian
employees of National Guard units of the state who are employed
pursuant to Section 90 of the National Defense Act of June 3, 1916
(32 U.S.C. Sec. 42), and paid from funds allotted to those units by
the Department of Defense.
   (b) The Adjutant General may enter into an agreement with the
board pursuant to Section 22203 for the purpose of obtaining coverage
under the federal system for these employees.



22125.  For all purposes of this part relating to Section 218(c) of
the Social Security Act, employees in any class or classes of
positions covered by a retirement system excluded from the agreement
pursuant to paragraph (3) or (5) of Section 218(c) of the Social
Security Act at the time it is made applicable to such retirement
system and to which the agreement does not already apply shall
constitute a separate retirement system coverage group.
   For the purposes of the referendum among eligible retirement
system employees in such retirement system coverage group as required
by Article 2 of Chapter 2 of this part and Section 218(d) of the
Social Security Act, each such class shall constitute a separate
retirement system.



22126.  Notwithstanding Section 22009.1, each retirement system
which covers positions of policemen or firemen, or both, and other
positions shall constitute a separate retirement system with respect
to the positions of policemen or firemen, or both, covered by the
system. Policemen and firemen shall vote separately from the other
members of the system.
   If the federal system is extended to any fireman's or policeman's
position it shall be extended to them as a unit without any division
of their separate retirement systems.
