112350.  Unless the context otherwise requires, the definitions set
forth in this article govern the construction of this chapter.



112355.  "Cold storage" means a place artificially refrigerated to a
temperature above zero of 45 degrees Fahrenheit or below. It does
not include any place where food that is privately owned and not held
for resale is stored inside of lockers or compartments that are not
more than 25 cubic feet in capacity, and which lockers or
compartments are leased to private individuals for their exclusive
use.



112360.  "Cold stored" means the keeping of articles of food in cold
storage for a period exceeding ten days.



112365.  "Article of food" means any article of food used for human
consumption. It includes fresh meat and fresh meat products (except
in process of manufacture), fresh and dried fruit or vegetables,
fish, shellfish, game, poultry, eggs, butter, and cheese, but not
malt beverages.



112370.  "Storer" means a person who offers articles of food for
cold storage.


112375.  This chapter does not apply to any cold storage or
refrigerating plant or warehouse that is maintained or operated by a
restaurant, hotel, exclusively wholesale or retail establishment,
cannery, winery, brewery, or other food processing place that is used
for the storage of food and which place is owned by or is for the
exclusive use of the occupant owner or maintainer thereof, and said
food is not stored for other persons.



112380.  The term "locker plant" as used in this chapter shall mean
any building or portion thereof that is artificially cooled to or
below a temperature above zero of 45 degrees Fahrenheit and used
exclusively for the storage of any article of food for the sole use
of the storer, and that article or articles of food are not for
resale.
   If any article or articles of food stored in locker plants are for
resale and/or to be used for manufacturing purposes, said locker
plant is subject to the license provisions of this chapter and all
sections thereof.
