112435. No storer shall place in cold storage any article of foodwhose keeping qualities have been impaired by disease, taint, ordeterioration, or that has not been slaughtered, handled, andprepared for storage in accordance with food laws pertaining theretoand the regulations as may be prescribed by the state department forthe sanitary preparation of food products for cold storage.112440. Any article of food intended for use other than humanconsumption shall, before being cold stored, be marked by the ownerin accordance with forms prescribed by the department in a way as toindicate plainly that the article is not to be sold for human food.112445. Each separate lot of food, when deposited in cold storage,shall be marked plainly with the lot number covering that particularlot of articles of food indicated and recorded on the recordsmaintained on the premises.112450. The department shall inspect and supervise all cold storageor refrigerating warehouses, and make the inspection of the entry ofarticles of food therein as it deems necessary to secure the properenforcement of this chapter.112455. The department and its duly authorized employees shall bepermitted access to cold storage or refrigerating warehouses at allreasonable times for purposes of inspection and enforcing thischapter.112460. The department may also appoint at the salary as it maydesignate, any person it deems qualified to make any inspectionrequired by this chapter.112465. No person shall keep any article of food in cold storagefor more than twelve calendar months, except with the consent of theboard. Thirty days prior to the expiration of the 12-month period,the licensee shall send notice to the board advising them of thisfact. Duplicate notice shall be sent to the owner of the food.112470. The department shall, upon application, grant permission toextend the period of storage beyond 12 months for a particularconsignment of goods, if the goods in question are found, uponexamination, to be in proper condition for further storage at the endof 12 months. The length of time for which further storage isallowed shall be specified in the order granting the permission.112475. For the purpose of determining whether or not food lockerplants come under the provisions of this chapter, the operators orowners of all such frozen food locker plants shall make available,upon request to any agent of the department, the names and addressesof any and all persons, firms, or corporations renting, leasing, oroccupying the lockers or compartments.112480. Unless otherwise permitted by this article, it is unlawfulto represent or advertise as fresh goods articles of food that havebeen placed in cold storage. This section shall not apply tovegetables, fruit or other foods sold as "fresh frozen" and solabeled, when stored at or below zero degrees Fahrenheit, or to eggsheld in cold storage for 30 days or less.112485. It is unlawful to return to cold storage any article offood that has once been released from such storage and placed on themarket for sale to consumers. However, nothing in this sectionprevents the transfer of goods from one cold storage or refrigeratingwarehouse to another, if the transfer is not made for the purpose ofevading any provision of this chapter.112490. The department may make regulations to secure the properenforcement of this chapter, including regulations with respect tothe sanitary preparation of articles of food for cold storage, theuse of marks, tags, or labels, and the display of signs.
