SECTIONS 9525-9528

9525.  The building department of every city or city and countyshall enforce the provisions of this part within such city or cityand county. "Building department" or "department" means thedepartment, bureau, or officer charged with the enforcement of lawsor ordinances regulating the erection, construction or alteration ofbuildings.9526.  The department, officer or officers of a county who arecharged with the enforcement of laws or ordinances regulating theerection, construction or alteration of buildings, shall enforce theprovisions of this part within such county but outside theterritorial limits of any city.9527.  Any city or county may, by ordinance, designate anydepartment or officer to enforce any portion of this part.9528.  In any city where there is no department or officer chargedwith or designated for the enforcement of this part, the appropriatedepartment, officer or officers of the county in which such city islocated shall enforce this part. In any county where there is no department or officer charged withor designated for the enforcement of this part, this part shall beenforced by the county engineer, if there is a county engineer, andif not, then by the county surveyor.
