24531.  A transit district may be created as provided in this partand when so created may exercise the powers herein granted.24532.  Except as otherwise provided in this part elections shall beheld and conducted and the result ascertained, determined, anddeclared in all respects as nearly as practicable in conformity withthe general election laws of the State.24533.  Except as otherwise provided in this part all ordinances andnotices which are required to be published shall be published withinthe district pursuant to Section 6066 of the Government Code.24534.  Whenever in this part publication is required and there isno newspaper of general circulation published within the district,the publication may be made in a newspaper of general circulationpublished in any county where the district is situated.24535.  Whenever the signature of any officer or employee of adistrict or of any member of the retirement board or of any officeror employee of the retirement system is authorized or required underthe provisions of this part, except in the single instance providedin Section 26244, the signature may be made by the use of a platebearing facsimiles of such signatures.
