SECTION 26681-26687
26681.  The board shall by ordinance setting forth the terms andconditions at length declare its intention of causing the agreementto be approved by the district.26682.  The ordinance together with a notice fixing the time andplace for hearing thereon shall be published in the district pursuantto Section 6061 of the Government Code. A copy of the ordinanceshall be filed with the secretary of the district. The time fixed forhearing shall not be less than 30 nor more than 60 days from thedate of the publication of the ordinance.26683.  At the hearing any person interested may file with the boardwritten objections to the approval of the terms and conditions.26684.  Upon the hearing the board shall determine whether or notthe terms and conditions will be approved and shall hear anddetermine all objections thereto. Failure of any person interested inthe district or in the matter of the proposed annexation on theterms and conditions set forth in the ordinance to show cause inwriting pursuant to Section 26683 constitutes an assent on his partto a change in the boundaries of the district upon the terms andconditions set forth.26685.  Any hearing on the agreement may be adjourned from time totime by the board, not exceeding 30 days in all, without furthernotice other than an order entered upon the minutes of the meetingfixing the time and place of adjournment.26686.  If no protests are filed or the protests filed are overruledand denied by the board the board shall thereupon by resolutionfinally approve the terms and conditions and proceed with theannexation in the manner provided in this chapter.26687.  If protests against the proposed annexation are sustained,all proceedings shall be dismissed and no proceedings shall beundertaken again concerning the territory or any part thereof untilafter the expiration of one year.
