SECTIONS 21265-21266

21265.  The board of supervisors of the office county shall fill byappointment vacancies in the offices of directors, provided that anysuch appointed directors shall be required to run for election in thenext succeeding general district election. If within 60 days after a vacancy on the board of directors occursthe board of supervisors has failed to fill such vacancy, a specialelection may be called by the board of directors and held in thedivision affected, for the purpose of filling such vacancy. In theevent there are more than two candidates at such special election,only a plurality will be required for election. The candidate electedat such special election shall fill the unexpired term of thevacating director.21265.5.  Notwithstanding any other provision of law, all vacancieson the board of directors elected pursuant to Section 21551 shall befilled pursuant to Section 1780 of the Government Code.21266.  A board shall fill by appointment vacancies in the officesof assessor, collector, and treasurer. If the board fails to make anappointment within 40 days, the board of supervisors of the officecounty shall make the appointment.
