SECTION 462-465



462.  The department shall conduct studies and investigations on the
availability and quality of wastewater and the uses of reclaimed
water for beneficial purposes, including, but not limited to,
groundwater recharge, municipal and industrial use, irrigation use,
and cooling for thermal electric powerplants.



463.  The department shall study and investigate the technology of
the reuse of reclaimed water and further the development of the
technology of the reclamation of water.



465.  The department may assist local agencies and public utilities
providing water service in applying for, and in obtaining approval
of, federal and state funding and permits for cost-effective water
reclamation projects and shall confer and cooperate with the board
during the application and approval process.
