41.167 Electronic funds transfers -- Definition of &quot;check.&quot; (1) The State Treasurer may withdraw funds from or deposit funds in the State Treasury by means of electronic funds transfers. The Finance and Administration Cabinet <br>shall obtain a payee's prior, written consent for the payment of funds due him from <br>the State Treasury by means of direct deposit rather than by means of a paper check <br>issued to him. A single authorization may be granted for multiple payments to a <br>payee by means of direct deposit. (2) For the purpose of implementing this section and unless the context requires a different meaning, the term &quot;check&quot; as used in this chapter shall mean either a paper <br>check or a paperless entry on an electronic data processing medium that substitutes <br>for a paper check for the purposes of debiting or crediting an account and of which a <br>permanent record is made.
