156.060 Quorum -- Meetings -- Location of office -- Compensation. For meetings of the Kentucky Board of Education, a majority of the voting members shall <br>constitute a quorum for the transaction of business. The board shall meet not less than <br>every three (3) months and at other times it may be called as provided in this section. <br>Special meetings of the board may be called by the chairperson, and upon written request <br>of two (2) members, the chairperson shall call a special meeting of the board to be held <br>not later than twenty (20) days following receipt of the written request. The chairperson <br>shall give notice through the secretary by registered or certified mail, return receipt <br>requested, to each member of the board at least ten (10) days prior to the time of any <br>meeting unless all members of the board waive notice in writing. The offices of the board <br>shall be at the seat of government in the Department of Education and shall be provided <br>by the state. Members of the board may receive a per diem of one hundred dollars (&#36;100) <br>for each regular or special meeting attended and actual expenses for attending meetings, <br>and may be reimbursed for other actual and necessary expenditures incurred in the <br>performance of their duties authorized by the board. The per diem and expenses shall be <br>paid out of the appropriation for the board. Effective: July 15, 1996 History: Amended 1996 Ky.
