171.620 Private documents of public interest. The department is authorized, whenever it is deemed to be in the public interest, to accept <br>for deposit: <br>(1) The papers and other historical materials of any Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, or of any other official or former official of the state or its subdivisions, <br>and other papers relating to and contemporary with any Governor or former <br>Governor of Kentucky, subject to restrictions agreeable to the department and the <br>donor; (2) Documents, including motion picture films, still pictures, sound recordings, maps, and papers, from private sources that are appropriate for preservation by the state <br>government as evidence of its organization, functions, policies, and transactions or <br>those of its subdivisions. History: Amended 1970 Ky. Acts ch. 92, sec. 49. -- Created 1958 Ky. Acts ch. 49, sec. 22, effective June 19, 1958.
