175.425 Purpose and status of turnpike authority. The Turnpike Authority of Kentucky is created solely to perform essential governmental <br>functions and to serve the public purposes of constructing, acquiring, financing and <br>operating turnpike and other road projects for the use, safety, convenience and general <br>welfare of the traveling public. In accomplishing such public purposes, the Turnpike <br>Authority of Kentucky shall be and constitute a de jure municipal corporation and <br>political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. History: Created 1976 Ky. Acts ch. 202, sec. 1.
