Page 1 of 1 196.703 Inspection powers of commission. The commission or one (1) or more of its members may visit and inspect any state penal <br>institution and may inform and advise the commissioner of the Department of Corrections <br>in regard to the institution's physical or other condition, its discipline, management, and <br>program, and its general adequacy or inadequacy. The commission or a majority of its <br>members shall have full access to the grounds and buildings and to the books and records <br>belonging or relating to the institution, as well as the right to subpoena witnesses, take <br>proof, or hear testimony under oath relating to the institution. Effective: June 26, 2007 <br>History: Created 2007 Ky. Acts ch. 85, sec. 229, effective June 26, 2007.
