38-1219. Department;additional rules and regulations.The department,with the recommendation of the board, shall adopt and promulgate rules andregulations necessary to:(1) Administer the Emergency Medical Services Practice Act;(2) Provide for curricula which will allow out-of-hospitalemergency care providers and users of automated external defibrillators asdefined in section 71-51,102 to be trained for the delivery of practices andprocedures in units of limited subject matter which will encourage continueddevelopment of abilities and use of such abilities through additional authorizedpractices and procedures;(3) Establish procedures and requirements for applicationsfor licensure, renewal, and reinstatement in any of the licensure classificationscreated pursuant to the Emergency Medical Services Practice Act, including provisions for issuing anemergency medical responder license to a licensee renewing his or her firstresponder license after September 1, 2010, and for issuing a paramedic licenseto a licensee renewing his or her emergency medical technician-paramedic licenseafter September 1, 2010; and(4) Provide for the inspection, review, and termination ofapproval of training agencies.
