48-2802. Innovation and Entrepreneurship TaskForce; created; members; statewide strategic plan; contents.The Legislaturerecognizes the importance of innovation and high wage employment and the rolethat innovation plays in the economic well-being of the state. The Innovationand Entrepreneurship Task Force is created. The Executive Board of the LegislativeCouncil shall appoint six members of the Legislature to the task force. Theexecutive board shall appoint one of such members as chairperson and one asvice-chairperson. The task force shall develop a statewide strategic planto cultivate a climate of entrepreneurship that results in innovation andhigh wage employment. The task force shall adopt policy criteria to be usedin the development of the plan. The plan shall include an inventory of currentstate and locally sponsored programs and resources targeted to small businesses,microenterprises, and entrepreneurial endeavors in the state. The plan shallprovide an overview of best practices from other states, including, but notlimited to, an examination of economic gardening and angel investor programs,and provide policy options.
