54-770. State Veterinarian; quarantine; duties;prohibited acts.TheState Veterinarian shall immediately quarantine, at the expense of the owneror custodian, any affected herd and the affected premises. An animal or animalsunder quarantine may be relocated as directed by the State Veterinarian toavoid or lessen exposure to pathogenic agents. Quarantine restrictions imposedby the State Veterinarian as applied to the movement and disposition of anindividual animal or a group of animals within an affected herd may vary asappropriate according to risk of exposure to pathogenic agents. It shall beunlawful for any person to remove an animal which has been placed under quarantinepursuant to the Anthrax Control Act from the place of quarantine until suchquarantine is released by the State Veterinarian. An affected premises orany portion thereof which has been placed under quarantine shall remain underquarantine until released by the State Veterinarian. SourceLaws 2009, LB99, § 7.
