71-6902. Performance of abortion; notice required.(1) No abortion shall be performed upon a pregnant woman until at least forty-eight hours after written notice of the pending abortion has been delivered in the manner specified in subsection (2) or (3) of this section.(2) The notice shall be addressed to the parent at his or her usual place of residence and shall be delivered personally to the parent by the physician or an agent.(3) In lieu of the delivery required by subsection (2) of this section, notice shall be made by registered or certified mail addressed to the parent at his or her usual place of residence with return receipt requested and restricted delivery to the addressee, which means the postal employee can only deliver mail to the authorized addressee. Time of delivery shall be deemed to occur at twelve o'clock noon on the next day on which regular mail delivery takes place subsequent to the mailing. SourceLaws 1991, LB 425, § 2.
