83-1,124. Parolee; unauthorized leaving of state; penalty; where tried; cost of return; paid by state.(1) A person is guilty of a felony if, while on parole under the Nebraska Treatment and Corrections Act, he or she violates parole by leaving the State of Nebraska without the authority of the Board of Parole, and shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by commitment to the Department of Correctional Services for not more than five years.(2) A parolee charged with a violation of this section shall be tried in Lancaster County or in the county where the parolee last resided. The state shall pay for expenses incurred in returning the parolee to the county in which the action is to be tried. SourceLaws 1969, c. 817, § 55, p. 3100; Laws 1997, LB 396, § 26.
