Any person who believes thathe or another person is eligible to receive electronic food and nutritionbenefits may apply for such assistance to the county department of socialservices in the county in which the applicant resides. The application shall bemade in such form and shall contain such information as the Social ServicesCommission may require. Upon receipt of an application for electronic food andnutrition benefits, the county department of social services shall make aprompt evaluation or investigation of the facts alleged in the application inorder to determine the applicant's eligibility for such assistance and toobtain such other information as the Department may require. Upon thecompletion of such investigation, the county department of social servicesshall, within a reasonable period of time, determine eligibility. (1981, c. 275, s. 1; 2007‑97,s. 10.)
