§120‑84.7.  Membership.

The Commission shall consistof six members of the House of Representatives appointed by the Speaker of theHouse of Representatives and six members of the Senate appointed by thePresident Pro Tempore of the Senate.  Members shall serve for two‑yearterms beginning on the convening of the General Assembly in each odd‑numberedyear; provided, however, the terms of initial members shall begin onappointment and end on the day of the convening of the 1991 General Assembly. Members shall not be disqualified from completing a term of service on theCommission because they fail to run or are defeated for reelection. Resignation or removal from the General Assembly shall constitute resignationor removal from membership on the Commission.

Vacancies created byresignation or otherwise shall be filled by the original appointing authority.

A House cochairman and aSenate cochairman shall be elected by the Commission from among its members. (1989(Reg. Sess., 1990), c. 1066, s. 23.)
