(a) Enlisted personneldischarged from service in the National Guard shall receive a discharge inwriting in such form and with such classification as is or shall be prescribedunder regulations promulgated by the appropriate service.
(b) Discharges may begiven prior to the expiration of terms of enlistment under such regulations asmay be prescribed by the Adjutant General, State of North Carolina, or pursuantto regulations promulgated by the secretary of the appropriate service.
