§14‑401.2.  Misdemeanor for detective to collect claims, accounts, etc.

It shall be unlawful for anyperson, firm, or corporation, who or which is engaged in business as adetective, detective agency, or what is ordinarily known as "secretservice work," or conducts such business, to engage in the business ofcollecting claims, accounts, bills, notes, or other money obligations forothers, or to engage in the business known as a collection agency.  Violationof the provisions hereof shall be a Class 2 misdemeanor. (1943,c. 383; 1969, c. 1224, s. 5; 1993, c. 539, s. 272; 1994, Ex. Sess., c. 24, s.14(c).)
