§ 143‑215.55.  Acquisition of existingstructures.

A local government may acquire, by purchase, exchange, or condemnationan existing structure located in a flood hazard area in the area regulated bythe local government if the local government determines that the acquisition isnecessary to prevent damage from flooding. The procedure in all condemnationproceedings pursuant to this section shall conform as nearly as possible to theprocedure provided in Article 3 of Chapter 40A of the General Statutes.
