§ 143A‑44.1. Creation.
There is hereby created aDepartment of Public Instruction. The head of the Department of PublicInstruction is the State Board of Education. Any provision of G.S. 143A‑9to the contrary notwithstanding, the appointment of the State Board ofEducation shall be as prescribed in Article IX, Section (4)(1) of theConstitution.
