§ 143B‑74.1. U.S.S. North Carolina Battleship Commission – funds.

The Commission shall establish and maintain a "BattleshipFund" composed of the moneys which may come into its hands from admissionor inspection fees, gifts, donations, grants, or bequests, which funds will beused by the Commission to pay all costs of maintaining and operating the shipfor the purposes herein set forth.  The Commission shall maintain books ofaccounting records concerning revenue derived and all expenses incurred in maintainingand operating the ship as a public memorial. The operations of the Commissionshall be subject to the oversight of the State Auditor pursuant to Article 5Aof Chapter 147 of the General Statutes. The Commission shall establish areserve fund in an amount to be determined by the Secretary of CulturalResources to be maintained and used for contingencies and emergencies beyondthose occurring in the course of routine maintenance and operation, and mayauthorize the deposit of this reserve fund in a depository to be selected bythe Treasurer of North Carolina.
