§ 158‑39.  Funds.

The establishment andoperation of the Region are governmental functions and constitute a publicpurpose. The State of North Carolina and any unit of local government mayappropriate or otherwise provide funds to support the establishment andoperation of the Region. The State of North Carolina and any unit of localgovernment may also dedicate, sell, convey, donate, or lease any of theirinterests in property to the Region. The Region may apply for grants from theState of North Carolina, the United States, or any department, agency, orinstrumentality of the State or the United States. Any department of Stategovernment may allocate to the Region any funds the use of which is notrestricted by law. (1993,c. 544, s. 1; 2005‑364, s. 1.)
