§ 160A‑669.  Funds.

The establishment and operation of a district is a public purpose, andthe State of North Carolina and any unit of local government may appropriatefunds to support the establishment and operation of the district. The State ofNorth Carolina and any unit of local government may also dedicate, sell,convey, donate, or lease any of their interests in any property to thedistrict. A district may apply for grants from the State of North Carolina, orfrom the United States or any department, agency, or instrumentality thereof.The Department of Commerce may allocate to a district any funds appropriatedfor natural gas. (1997‑426, s.2.)
