Any person who commits anoffense for which points may be assessed pursuant to the Schedule of PointValues for Violations While Operating a Commercial Motor Vehicle as provided inG.S. 20‑16(c) may be assessed double the amount of any fine or penaltyauthorized by statute. (1999‑330, s. 8.)
