§52C‑2‑206.  Enforcement and modification of support order bytribunal having continuing jurisdiction.

(a)        A tribunal of thisState may serve as an initiating tribunal to request a tribunal of anotherstate to enforce or modify a support order issued in that state.

(b)        A tribunal of thisState having continuing, exclusive jurisdiction over a support order may act asa responding tribunal to enforce or modify the order. If a party subject to thecontinuing, exclusive jurisdiction of the tribunal no longer resides in theissuing state, in subsequent proceedings the tribunal may apply G.S. 52C‑3‑315to receive evidence from another state and G.S. 52C‑3‑317 to obtaindiscovery through a tribunal of another state.

(c)        A tribunal of thisState which lacks continuing, exclusive jurisdiction over a spousal supportorder may not serve as a responding tribunal to modify a spousal support orderof another state. (1995, c. 538, s. 7(c).)
