The Commissioner may adoptrules to provide for audits and opinions of insurers' financial statements bycertified public accountants. These rules shall be substantially similar to theNAIC model rule that requires audited financial reports, as amended. TheCommissioner may adopt, amend, or repeal provisions of these rules under G.S.150B‑21.1 in order to keep these rules current with the NAIC model rule. (1989,c. 485, s. 38; 1998‑212, s. 26B(g).)
