§ 58‑39‑125. Powers of the Commissioner.

(a)        The Commissionershall have the power to examine and investigate into the affairs of everyinsurance institution or agent doing business in this State to determinewhether the insurance institution or agent has been or is engaged in anyconduct in violation of this Article.

(b)        The Commissionershall have the power to examine and investigate the affairs of every insurance‑supportorganization that acts on behalf of an insurance institution or agent and thateither (i) transacts business in this State, or (ii) transacts business outsidethis State and has an effect on a person residing in this State in order todetermine whether such insurance‑support organization has been or isengaged in any conduct in violation of this Article.
