Article34.

Certificates ofAuthentication.

§ 66‑270.  Authority ofSecretary of State to authenticate documents.

The Secretary, or theSecretary's designee, may sign and issue a certificate of authentication for adocument that has been executed or issued in this State so that it can berecognized in a foreign jurisdiction. The certificate may be issued under theseal of the Department of the Secretary of State or under the Great Seal of theState of North Carolina. The Secretary may adopt rules to implement thisArticle in accordance with Chapter 150B of the General Statutes. (1998‑228,s. 14.)
