§8‑22.  Local: recitals in tax deeds in Haywood and Henderson.

In all legal controversiestouching lands in the Counties of Haywood and Henderson, in which either partyshall claim title under any sale for taxes alleged to have been due and laid,in and for the year one thousand seven hundred and ninety‑six, or anypreceding year, the recital contained in the deed or assurance, made by thesheriff or other officer conveying or assuring the same, of the taxes havingbeen laid and assessed, and of the same having remained due and unpaid, shallbe held and taken to be prima facie evidence of the truth of each and every ofthe matters so recited.
