Section 34-11-10

Public work.

It shall be unlawful for the state or any of its departments, boards or agencies or any county, municipality or political subdivision or any department, board or agency of any county, municipality or political subdivision to engage in the construction of any public work involving the practice of engineering unless the engineering drawings, plans, specifications and estimates have been prepared by and the construction executed under the direct supervision of a professional engineer; provided, that nothing in this chapter shall be held to apply to any public work wherein the expenditure for the complete project of which the work is a part does not exceed $20,000.00.
