92820.  There is hereby established in the Neurology Department at
the University of California, San Francisco, a research project on
substance abuse. The major goal of this research is to identify new
pharmaceutical agents to prevent or treat alcohol and drug addiction.
It is the intent of the Legislature that dedicated state funding for
this research will be provided for five years, and be appropriated
in the annual Budget Act. It is further the intent of the Legislature
that the augmentation of one million dollars ($1,000,000) per year
appropriated in the Budget Act of 2000 for this program be used for
permanent on-going support of the program.
