      Sec. 14-67d. Manufacturer's registrations. Fees. The commissioner may issue to each manufacturer licensed under the provisions of sections 14-67a to 14-67d, inclusive, registrations with the same distinguishing number. Each such registration shall expire annually on the last day of June. For the issuance of each such registration and for the annual renewal thereof there shall be charged a fee of thirty-one dollars, and on and after July 1, 1992, thirty-five dollars; except that the fee for a commercial registration shall be one-half the fee charged for the maximum gross weight of the motor vehicle on which such number or mark is used and except as otherwise provided by subsection (g) of section 14-49. Registration certificates issued under the provisions of this section shall not be required to be carried upon such motor vehicles when on the public highways as required under subsection (a) of section 14-13.

      History: P.A. 83-428 increased the registration fee for manufacturer's vehicles from $8 to $20 and included a separate fee provision for commercial motor vehicles; P.A. 84-254 periodically increased the fee from $20 to $40 as of July 1, 1992; P.A. 84-429 made technical changes for statutory consistency; P.A. 87-329 maintained the fee at the level existing on and after July 1, 1986, and decreased the fee effective July 1, 1992, to the level formerly existing on and after July 1, 1988; P.A. 90-263 substituted commercial registration for commercial motor vehicles in the exception.
