It is unlawful for any county, township, city or town, municipal corporation, agency or instrumentality of the State, or school district or school authority to employ any time or adopt any ordinance, resolution or order providing for the use of any time other than that specified in this Act. Any officer or employee of any county, township, city or town, municipal corporation, agency or instrumentality of the state, or school district or school authority who violates any provision of this act is guilty of a petty offense. (5 ILCS 440/4) (from Ch. 1, par. 3204) Sec. 4. If any provision of this act or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the act which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this act are declared to be severable.
