Chapter 24.--DRAINAGE AND LEVEES
Article 1.--GENERAL PROVISIONS

      24-120.   Same; duties of county engineer and county attorney;superintendent, salary.In all matters pertaining to the engineering and supervision ofmaintenance of said drainage works the county engineer of such county shallserve in the capacity of engineer and superintendent, under the order ofthe board of county commissioners, and shall serve without additionalcompensation except such actual expenses as may be allowed by the board ofcounty commissioners, and the county attorney of such county shall rendersuch legal services and advice concerning the affairs of said district asmay be required by the board of county commissioners, and shall do sowithout additional compensation, save actual and necessary expenses in theperformance of such duties as may be allowed by the board of countycommissioners.

      The board of county commissioners, upon taking charge of the affairs ofany such drainage district, shall appoint some resident of said drainagedistrict, a taxpayer therein, to superintend the control of any drainagegates, ditches and works, and from time to time advise with the board ofcounty commissioners concerning the condition thereof and to recommendrepairs and work of maintenance, and may allow such superintendentreasonable compensation, not exceeding $100 dollars per year.
