Chapter 24.--DRAINAGE AND LEVEES
Article 12.--WATERSHED DISTRICTS

      24-1230.   Notification of directors upon dissolution or partialdissolution of district; duties of secretary, treasurer and directors;effective date of dissolution; recordation of certificate of dissolution. Upon receipt from the secretary of state of the certificate ofdissolution of the watershed district or portion thereof under theprovisions of this act, the secretary of the board of directors of saidwatershed district shall notify the directors of the watershed district ofsuch certification.

      The directors shall immediately pay all obligations of said district orportion thereof, including all costs incurred by the district, the chiefengineer and secretary of state in regard to the dissolution proceedings,and the treasurer shall thereupon distribute all moneys in his handsbelonging to the district or portion thereof in the manner prescribed bythis act, and immediately after making such distribution, the treasurershall notify the secretary of such distribution. Upon receipt of suchnotification, the secretary of the district shall have the certificate ofdissolution published once in a newspaper of general circulation, locatedin the county wherein the registered office of said watershed district islocated, and proof of such publication shall be filed in the office of thesecretary of state. The effective date of the dissolution, unless otherwiseprovided, shall be the date on which the proof of publication is filed inthe office of the secretary of state, but in no event shall the date ofdissolution be a date prior to the date of publication of the certificateof dissolution. A certified copy of said certificate of dissolution of saiddistrict or portion thereof shall also be recorded in the office of theregister of deeds of each county in which any portion of the dissolveddistrict is located.
