Chapter 24.--DRAINAGE AND LEVEES
Article 12.--WATERSHED DISTRICTS

      24-1231.   Disposition of funds of totally or partially disorganizeddistrict; duties of treasurer.Any funds of a watershed district which is totally disorganized anddissolved under the provisions of this act shall be apportioned and paid tothe townships or cities located within or partly within the watersheddistrict in the proportion which the assessed valuation of property in saidwatershed district located within the township or city bears to the totalassessed valuation of the watershed district, based on equalized assessedvaluations for the preceding year. Any funds of any watershed districtwhich is partially disorganized and dissolved by the provisions of this actshall be apportioned and paid to the township or cities located within orpartly within the dissolved portion of said watershed district and retainedby the remaining portion of said watershed district in the proportionswhich the assessed valuation of property in the dissolved portion of saidwatershed district located within the township or city and the assessedvalue of property in the undissolved portion of said watershed districtbear to the total assessed valuation of the watershed district based onequalized assessed valuations for the preceding year. The watersheddistrict treasurer, upon notification of receipt of a certificate ofdissolution, shall immediately pay the amounts due each township or city orpart thereof located within the district or the dissolved portion of saiddistrict to the treasurer of the township or to the city treasurer, as suchtownship or city may be entitled to receive.
