Chapter 24.--DRAINAGE AND LEVEES
Article 3.--DRAINAGE OF SWAMPS, BOTTOMS OR LOWLANDS WITHIN COUNTY

      24-306.   Division into sections; performance of work; fees andcosts; assessments.The said board of county commissioners, whenever they shall haveestablished any such ditch, drain, or watercourse, shall divide the sameinto suitable sections, not less in number than the number of owners ofland through which the same may be located, and shall also prescribe thetime within which the work upon such sections shall be completed, and bywhom done. And the said county commissioners shall assess and allow allthe fees, costs and expenses of locating and establishing such ditch,drain, or watercourse, and shall apportion the payment of the sameequitably among the parties to be benefited thereby. And the countycommissioners may prescribe the time within which assessments shall bepaid, and may, if they deem it necessary and convenient to the parties,direct the clerk to prepare, for the use of each person having costs topay and labor to perform, a brief statement, in writing, describingbriefly his, her or their apportionment of said ditch, together with thelength, depth, and width, and place of the same, amount of costs assessedagainst such person, when to be paid, and by what time said work shallbe completed.
