Chapter 24.--DRAINAGE AND LEVEES
Article 4.--DRAINAGE DISTRICTS WITHIN COUNTIES OR CITIES

      24-448.   Contracts with federal agencies.That the board of directors of any drainage district shall have power tocontract with any commissioner, officer, board of officers or other agencyof the United States for the purpose of securing the construction,maintenance, or repair, or the aid, assistance or co-operation of theUnited States in the construction, repair, or maintenance, of any levee orpart thereof or other work to prevent overflow or improve the channel ofany watercourse within such district, and to this end may turn over to suchagency of the United States the use and control of its right of way and ofany part of its levees, and may place its employees and officers at thedisposal of and under the direction of such agency of the United States,and generally may enter into any arrangement or agreement with any officeror agency of the United States that will secure the construction or aid inthe construction of any cutoff, levee, or other work, or any change,improvement or relocation of the channel or any part thereof, or theexcavation of and establishment of any new channel of any watercourse thatwill protect or aid in the protection of the lands within the district fromoverflow.
