Chapter 24.--DRAINAGE AND LEVEES
Article 4.--DRAINAGE DISTRICTS WITHIN COUNTIES OR CITIES

      24-493.   Same; duties of county engineer.In any and all districts located in counties having a county engineer,the county engineer shall have full control and supervision of theengineering work connected with improvements and repairs undertaken andcarried on under the provisions of this act, and it is hereby made the dutyof such county engineer to take charge of such works and improvements, andto make plans, supervise the work and expenditures without any furthercompensation than now provided by law. In the performance of his duties thecounty engineer shall have charge of the engineering department of anydrainage board while carrying out work and improvements under theprovisions of this act, and it shall be the duty of the drainage board andits engineering department and other employees of such board to comply withthe directions and requirements of the county engineer without any extracompensation; and any and all costs and expenditures made necessary by thecounty engineer in carrying on the work shall be borne by the drainagedistrict.
