Chapter 24.--DRAINAGE AND LEVEES
Article 6.--DRAINAGE IN ONE OR MORE COUNTIES

      24-602.   Summons to owners of real estate.Immediately after such articles of association shall have been filed,the clerk of the district court of the county in which the proposeddistrict is located and in case the drainage district be composed ofterritory situated in the different counties, the clerk of the districtcourt of the county in which the greater portion of the land of theproposed district shall be situated, shall issue a summons as now providedby law. Suchsummons shall be directed to theseveral owners of real estate in such proposed district whomay be averredto be benefited thereby, but have not signed such articlesof association,which shall be served as summons in civil cases. In case anyowner orowners of real estate in such proposed district are unknown,or arenonresidents, they will be notified in the manner as nonresident defendantsare now by law notified, that the articles of association as aforesaid havebeen filed, and the purpose thereof, and that the real estate of such owneror owners situated in such district, fully describing thesame, will beaffected thereby, and rendered liable to taxation, or assessment for thepurposes of draining such district, and that applicationwill be made tohave such district declared a drainage district for thepurpose of drainingand reclaiming the same.
