Chapter 32.--WILDLIFE, PARKS AND RECREATION
Article 9.--LICENSES, PERMITS, STAMPS AND OTHER ISSUES

      32-996.   Wildlife conservation fund, use of federalmoneys.(a) All federal moneys received pursuant to federal assistance,federal-aidfunds and federal-aid grant reimbursements related to the wildlife conservationfundunder the control, authorities and duties of the department of wildlife andparks, shall beremitted to the state treasurer in accordance with the provisions of K.S.A.75-4215, andamendments thereto. Upon receipt of the remittance, the state treasurer shalldeposit theentire amount in the state treasury and credit it to the wildlife conservationfund-federal,which is hereby created.

      (b)   No moneys derived from sources described in subsection (a) or (c) shallbe usedfor any purpose other than the administration of matters which relate topurposes authorizedin K.S.A. 32-992, and amendments thereto, and which are under the control,authorities andduties of the secretary of wildlife and parks and the department of wildlifeand parks asprovided by law.

      (c)   On or before the 10th of each month, the director of accounts and reportsshalltransfer from the state general fund to the wildlife conservation fund-federalinterestearnings based on:

      (1)   The average daily balance of moneys in the wildlife conservationfund-federal,for the preceding month; and

      (2)   the net earnings rate of the pooled money investment portfolio for theprecedingmonth.

      (d)   All expenditures from the wildlife conservation fund-federal, shall bemade inaccordance with the appropriation acts upon warrants of the director ofaccounts andreports issued pursuant to vouchers approved by the secretary of wildlife andparks.
