Chapter 48.--MILITIA, DEFENSE AND PUBLIC SAFETY
Article 2.--KANSAS ARMY AND AIR NATIONAL GUARD

      48-243.   Failure to obey orders or to cooperate with civil authorities.The commanding officer of a military organization ordered into activeservice shall faithfully perform the duties required of him or her, andsuch officer shallnot hinder or prevent the civil authorities in a faithful performance oftheir duties, nor shall any officer or enlisted person neglect or refuse toobey the orders of the commanding officer issued in line of duty. Shouldany commissioned officer so offend, the officer shall be subject to trial bycourt-martial, and shall be liable to a fine of not more than one hundreddollars, or imprisonment in the county jail for a period not exceeding sixmonths, and may be dishonorably discharged from the service; should anenlisted person so offend, he or she shall be liable to a fine of not less than tennor more than fifty dollars, or imprisonment in the county jail for aperiod not exceeding three months, as may be fixed by the military court,and may be dishonorably discharged from the service.
